Michelle Olandese, LCSW-R

Michelle Olandese has been a licensed clinical social worker since 1998. She has extensive experience providing individual and group therapy with teenagers, young adults and adults with various mental health concerns.

Michelle sees counseling as an effective way to help people navigate and cope with the expected and unexpected; increase one’s self-awareness and understanding; heal and get unstuck; and let go and move forward. As an individual who like everyone else experiences life’s ups and downs and engages in personal growth and self-care, Michelle knows thru her personal and professional experiences that people can make changes; heal and recover; and improve and embrace their life.

Counseling is a process in which Michelle works collaboratively with you to discuss, explore and address your concerns and help you help yourself achieve a healthy wellbeing. She will provide you with a non-judgmental, empathic and safe space for you to share your thoughts, feelings and experiences.

Michelle appreciates working with individuals of diverse backgrounds, and of different sexes, genders, sexual orientations, ethnicities and spiritual preferences. She pulls from an assortment of counseling approaches such as motivational interviewing and modalities such as dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT) and eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR) as a way to meet your unique and individualized needs.

Specializes in working with:

  • Alcohol & substance abuse concerns

  • Self-harm behaviors

  • LGBTQIA+concerns
